Sear refrigerator problems

Sears - ice maker not working. FIRST NON REPAIR VISIT: The repair lady said ice maker not working, will order the part and return later.
Sears - ice maker not working. FIRST NON REPAIR VISIT: The repair lady said ice maker not working, will order the part and return later.
FIRST REPAIR VISIT: A repairman installed an ice maker.
SECOND NON REPAIR VISIT: The repairman said ice maker not working properly. Ordered part. I mentioned the freezer appeared to have defrosted and restarted again because my fruit was soft one day and froze solid the next day. He made no response as far as I heard or remembered.
SECOND REPAIR VISIT: A repair lady installed an ice maker.
THIRD NON REPAIR VISIT. The repairman said the problem may not be the fault of the icemaker. He ordered molding for the door.
UNEXPECTED PART RECEIVED: I received a part which I assumed was another ice maker.
FIRST MISSED APPOINTMENT: Morning appointment no one showed up. I called and the person I talked to said they were overbooked and someone would be out the next morning and I would be listed as a priority visit.
SECOND MISSED APPOINTMENT: I called and was informed that the repair person would be out by 2:30 PM.
THIRD MISSED APPOINTMENT: I called again and the person I was talking to said the repair person didn't have the part and could not locate it anywhere. As soon as he does they will set up a new appointment.
***The next day the door molding was delivered to my home.***
THIRD REPAIR VISIT: A repairman installed door molding after testing to see if there was light from a flashlight coming through around the door's molding. I told him about the food that was going soft and then refreezing. Again, I think this repairman said something in reply but do not know what he responded to my comments. He did look at the ice and told me something was wrong because the ice cube was clear on top but bubbled on the bottom. I showed the repairman the "Unexpected Part Received." He told me to hold on to that part, it is difficult to get parts, and it is worth its weight in gold.
***The next morning when trying to put ice in my drink I saw water pour into my glass. I checked the ice maker and found the ice bin had ice in it but also had water in it as well. The icemaker had partial ice and water also. The shelf below the door of the icemaker had water in it as well. I checked the freezer and most of the items were soft. The refrigerator was cold and I couldn't be sure if that was malfunctioning as well. Later, the next time I checked the refrigerator it appeared to be cold, but not as cold as before. Eventually, I determined the refrigerator was not staying cold. My grandson tried to help by unplugging the appliance from the electrical outlet and after a few seconds replugged it. Nothing!***
RESCHEDULE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT: The best I could get was a 7-11 AM appointment on January 2, 2020. But because I haven't had a fourth repair visit I can't request a new freezer, icemaker refrigerator. What a way to end in 2019.

Adding insult to injury - Providing that the missed appointments could be less insulting - I have two emails in my inbox telling me I have December 31st appointment between 7 AM & 12 PM. It asks for confirmation. I get the same response that at least two Sear's representatives told me they got - that time slot is NOT available.

Received a call today to call Sears a 1.800.4my.home. I did and got the usual run around when asked for my number. They do not have my telephone number associated with my warranty. But with a minimal amount of asking me a couple of times for my number and my explaining I have a Master Plan Warranty they finally get me through to a department that knows who I am. They told me my December 31st was not available and I have been rescheduled for January 2, 2020, between 12 & 4 PM. I started to tell her I already had that date, but it was between 7 & 11 AM. But, change my mind. Then I told her the next visit is my fourth repair visit and I don’t care if they can fix it I want a new refrigerator. She informs me it doesn’t work that way. The four repairs must be in the same year. Me, “Oh, no you don’t. I want to talk to someone that can resolve this problem.” She informed me I will have to call Monday after 8:00 AM and they will patch me through to someone then. I can’t wait to see how this is going to play out. I am pretty sure she doesn’t understand the basics of the warranty, but I am not going to let her off. I am going up the chain of command and get this straightened out tomorrow.

I got nowhere with the call for my request for a replacement refrigerator. The people at Sears are saying I only had two repair visits. Apparently, they are not counting the molding a repair. Even though the repairman ordered the molding as a possible cure for the problem with the icemakers not functioning properly. I am now thinking about the fact that the freezer has malfunctioned in the past and the ice only partially freezing this last time I called for help, that it was the refrigerator/freezer that was the problem all along. I do not understand why the repair people didn't check the whole unit. Come to think about it, no repair person check the unit at all. My washer and dryer, when a repair person visits, is put through a diagnostic check before any parts are ordered or repaired. Nothing was ever looked at diagnostically before ordering new icemaker or molding. I doubt the molding ever needed replacement and it is suspicious, in my mind, that three icemakers malfunctioned during three months (October, November, and December.)

FOURTH REPAIR VISIT: 01/02/2020 This probably won't count as a repair visit as nothing was fixed but put off for another day. The man who installed the molding and commented on the third repair visit that something was wrong with the ice was on this visit. I told him about the ice only half froze and dumped water and ice into the bin the next morning. He told me the refrigerator must have stopped cooling right after he left. I agreed. He said the refrigerator lost all of its Freon. He put a gauge in or on the tubing and told me either the compressor and/or another part needed to be replaced. I assume he meant to tell me the Freon would have to be replaced as well. He told me there would be a part delivered the next morning. He packed up his tools and his gauge and departed. The next day nothing was delivered. I called Sears and asked when the repairman would be back. I was informed no report had been made but they set me up for another repair visit on 1/8/02020. Hopefully, I remember to call them tomorrow (Monday) to make sure that if this is a repair visit they need to bring diagnostic equipment as well as parts to fix the cooling system. I can't buy food for the refrigerator until I know I have a working refrigerator. And I have to keep Bonnie's insulin cool until I am ready to use it.
